wants a star on the ice.

Game's athlete so strong,

keeps the balance precise.

And Jamie's in the house,

the engine full of grit.

Never backing down,

down doesn't know the word.

When together they bring the fire,

never say never.

So buckle up friends,

it's burpees forever.

Welcome to Sunday Mix.

what is going on everybody welcome to

sunday sunday sunday night crossfit talk

yes we rushed back from new york after

taylor and travis did i do and now

we're here with you just about a half

hour late

so hope hope you guys are okay with

that um we'll try to be on time

next time um oh man cross fat's coming

hard for carolyn it's okay i still got

france we're still good still good let's

go uh lex wants to know if jamie

got her hair done yeah

I mean, it's just not in a ponytail,

or I didn't go to the gym today,

so.

Fergie actually sent me a reel,

and now he's asking me a question about

it.

Would you rather do the

So at the Savannah Bananas game,

they had two hundred fifty year old men

shirtless run.

It was about a hundred, I'm guessing,

a hundred meter sprint.

I responded back to him.

It had to break the record for most

pulled hamstrings and torn Achilles.

Oh, no.

Were men going down?

I don't know.

I was just making a joke.

There were definitely a couple that.

worked out and there were definitely a

bunch that did not in that race um

i don't know what the seventy seventeen

seventy six watt is if it's like the

one we did at the gym you had

to do like one thousand seven hundred and

seventy six reps and it was like ten

movements or whatever so just like cycle

through it however you wanted to do it

yeah i it depends on what those reps

are

So that I, I don't know.

I feel like, I mean,

it was like box jumps, kettlebell swing.

I don't know.

So a ton of double unders.

Tutor.

That in two minutes.

What was that?

You could do double unders.

I think was one of the moments I

said,

tutor could finish that in like two

minutes.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Unbroken.

Yeah.

Um,

Yeah, I, uh,

my internet's going like in and out here.

So I'm like,

I'm catching pieces of things.

Okay.

Just jump in when you can.

We gotcha.

Um,

I watched more soccer last week than I've

ever watched in my entire life.

Other than the show.

Welcome to Rexham.

And I actually found it exciting.

I still was like confused about some

things,

but

didn't grow up on soccer,

didn't play soccer.

So I, you know, it's really tough.

Yeah.

Welcome to Rexham is like the most soccer

I've taken in as well.

Well, that in compare and with Ted Lasso,

those two shows, um, Rob Mack looks weird.

Now he lost me.

I,

I didn't notice a difference other than

the name change.

I haven't watched the most recent season,

so I don't know.

I've watched every episode, I think.

Okay.

I did notice some people watch, well,

Jason Bourne watched Project Hail Mary.

I've seen it twice.

I saw Averro hate on it.

It does take a minute to get into

it.

Um, it's just like the book when I,

I actually listened to the book on a

long trip and the first hour of the

book, I'm just going, what is going on?

But that's, that's kind of the book,

like it's the premise and the plot line.

It's a man who wakes up,

doesn't know who he is, where he is,

what he's doing.

And,

and he's uncovering this as the book movie

unfold.

And as it unfolds,

you become aware of it when he becomes

aware of it.

Okay.

I started watching,

I think it's Maximum Pleasure something.

Yeah,

Lex texted me yesterday that you guys were

into Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed.

We're all caught up on it.

It's good.

It's good.

It is not at all what I expected.

Not at all what I expected.

No, certainly not.

But but it's like there's a couple

episodes my jaw was on the floor at

the very end.

It because it is that shocking.

I really like it.

I'm like waiting for the next one to

come out.

Yeah,

I think there's only one more episode this

season.

Oh, really?

Yeah.

There's still a few pictures that I'm

trying to connect and I'm like, oh,

we still haven't,

we don't know who this person is or,

so lots of questions left to be answered.

Terry,

nineteen ninety nine for the ladies.

Again,

we are taking donations for Carolyn and

Jamie to get them to San Jose.

Any super chat that comes in,

we'll go directly to them.

And I am offsetting any charge that

YouTube gives that super chat.

So,

one hundred percent of your donation goes

to Jamie and Carolyn.

So, thank you so much, Terry.

And I think we're going to extend it

for one more week.

One more week.

Oh.

Yeah, I'm going to do one more week.

We still have two and a half weeks

before the games.

So, if we go one more week, that'll...

I think tomorrow they begin releasing work

notes for the masses.

I think we get some, yeah.

Yeah,

I figured like next weekend we would

preview the Masters games.

The weekend after that,

we'll preview the Elite games.

Because we'll probably know a little bit

more at that point.

If you guys are still here.

Yeah.

Wendy, when are you going?

Well, she can drive.

Oh, you're staying out there till then?

Registration day.

Oh, okay.

I'm like an hour away now.

A little bit over an hour.

i will i've already done the flight to

california okay yeah i will be i will

fly at like five or six in the

morning on monday so i'll be in grand

rapids at my sister's sunday night and

like i don't know i don't know if

i'll be available that night before what

we can make things work we'll figure it

out um i've missed a whole lot of

stuff here uh

both good books yes martian the martian

and um project hail married both good

books across fed says pure michigan i

don't what what is going on with that

um okay so

that is i was working projects all weekend

trying to get this patio done the heat

on friday was almost unbearable it was

almost just as bad yesterday finally today

we got a break finally yep um to

get some stuff done but man my back

is smoked it is just smoke bending over

to lay down bricks and tile and being

bent over the whole time

It's just a lot for this fifty six

year old back.

It's had twelve procedures.

But we're getting there.

We're getting there.

Shelly Young,

nine ninety nine for the girls.

Thanks, Shelly.

Oh, my God.

Oh, good.

Independence Day here.

Dang.

Thank you.

Great Independence Day here in the States,

minus the fireworks for the dogs.

It's always a night like Lex slept on

the floor with one of our dogs, Callie,

because she just gets very anxious and

their hearts are going crazy.

We don't like the fireworks here.

Do I have help with the backyard?

My wife, to some degree.

But pretty much it's just me.

Some directions on where to put things?

She actually is even backed off on that.

She's letting me kind of design it.

And then she's coming in with flowers and

stuff for the areas that aren't going to

be like seating areas.

So... But yeah.

Lots of wheelbarrow pushing...

lots of i i made a cement pad

this weekend um coming off my steps lots

of heavy bags of quick crete that i

didn't have enough had to run to the

hardware store get more come back if

you're doing a project and you don't have

to run back to the hardware store you're

not doing it right you're right you're

right um okay

No harm in getting help, Scott.

Sometimes getting extra hands is good.

Here's the deal.

I don't even really know what I want

the end product to be.

I'm kind of making it up as I

go.

And I didn't put any expectations on me

other than I have all summer to make

this.

Have you been having good weather?

It's just been hot this week.

Like I was doing really good.

We were getting a lot of headway.

And then this week it just was brutally

hot.

Yeah.

It went from like seventy five to ninety

six.

It was a little insane.

We hit ninety eight one day,

but it's all been like and a hundred

percent humidity.

Yeah, I know.

The real feel was like one oh six.

It was insane.

Yeah.

And this the heart medicine I'm on,

it makes me sensitive to heat.

so like i'm doing things in like small

chunks like i'll go work for twenty

minutes to a half hour take a break

go work for twenty minutes to half an

hour and just keep doing that over and

over again and then if it rains i

work on the garage those are my two

projects um yeah vicky my garage was a

sauna yeah it was brutal um

I have feedback from somebody now it's

gone.

Okay.

Uh, cows and CrossFit.

Tell me about Scott.

I was bailing hay all week.

That is a brutal job.

Yeah.

That sounds awful.

Uh,

has anyone ever got enough bag of wood

chips their first time to finish?

So you're saying mulch mulch?

No,

we never have enough or you buy too

much and you have six bags left.

Yes,

that's usually what happens around here.

It's like pasta sauce and pasta.

You can never get it to match.

Good analogy.

So anyway,

we're going to talk about some stuff

tonight.

I was trying to think,

any other big sports stuff happen this

week?

Nothing really, right?

Oh, F-one.

Here's my fascinating fact for F-one

today.

So the course at,

in the UK at Silverstone is five point

eight K.

If you were to run a five K,

how fast, how fast would it take you?

Right now?

I don't know.

Twenty one minutes, twenty minutes.

A five K?

Yeah.

Do you know?

Carolyn,

do you have a guess what you would

run it in?

On how long I would run a five

K?

Yeah.

These cars were doing five point eight K

in eighty eight seconds.

What?

Eighty eight seconds.

That's insane.

The perspective of that is mind-boggling.

Yeah.

It was a terrible race end.

It ended under a yellow.

There was no excitement.

And that's with turns and stuff too.

Oh, yeah.

Yeah.

But it ended under yellow.

My guy Lando came in fourth.

So just off the podium.

I think he could have got third if

they would have gone green again.

But they just never did.

And it was just kind of a bleh.

So crazy NBA and NHL trades, yeah.

My Seventy Sixers got, oh my gosh,

I'm blanking.

The guy from the Celtics.

Jalen Brown.

Jalen Brown, yeah.

Kawhi Leonard's coming back to Toronto.

Yeah.

Yeah.

There's trades all over the NHL.

It's like insane.

Paul George is going to the Celtics.

Yep.

Yep.

And LeBron is doing decision six,

apparently.

Taking his talents to somewhere.

Do you know how long the Nuremberg ring

is?

I don't.

I don't.

Yeah.

So, all right, let's talk about some,

some CrossFit stuff.

Wait, I have a question.

Did you have your progressive dinner?

So my progressive dinner for the fourth

turned into a cookout.

Oh, good.

I'm happy for you.

It was burgers and dogs, macaroni salad,

pickles.

I am so addicted to pickles right now.

I love pickles.

I don't think a day goes by that

I don't eat a pickle.

Did you get my snack that I sent

you?

Aaron had made that Grillo's pickle dip.

I saw it, yeah,

but I didn't know what it was.

I've never.

Oh, you haven't seen that, like,

going around TikTok?

No.

Oh, okay.

Yeah, but you, like,

take the pickles out and, like,

save some of the juice.

You, like, chop the pickles, add bacon,

cheese, cream cheese, obviously.

You put it back in the jar.

Was it good?

Yeah, it was good.

He did two of them.

Grillo's has a hot pickle as well.

And so he did one that was, like,

a spicy dip and one that was regular.

Okay.

You can just buy pickle de gallo from

Gorillaz.

Really?

I didn't know I had that.

So here's an unpopular.

I am not a fan of Gorillaz.

When they're good, they're really,

really good.

But it is really inconsistent.

I agree with that.

I agree.

I like just like cloths and pickles.

Like that's what I usually get out of

the refrigerator section.

Which brand?

I'm sorry.

Clawson.

Yeah.

I have Clawson's in my fridge all the

time.

Yeah, that's what I prefer.

Yeah.

They're a little, like, too dilly for me.

They're not, like, I don't know, garlicky,

I guess, enough.

I don't know.

I get that,

because we had Grillo's at the picnic

yesterday,

and it had a good garlic bite to

it, and they were a good Grillo pickle,

but you just don't get the same one

every time.

Yeah, I can see the batches.

Where Clausen's are pretty right down the

fairway every time.

Yep.

I bought some from New Jersey,

like the New Jersey Pickle Company one

time by mail.

And they have these things called whole

sours.

That was amazing.

Really?

And when they say whole sour,

it's how much dill and garlic they put

in.

And it's the whole bit.

They were amazing.

Mm-hmm.

Kenneth Tilap is a bread and butter

pickles guy.

I'm not really partial.

I just don't like sweet pickles.

I do not either.

But I prefer a dill,

but I'll eat a bread and butter if

it's there.

Ed, you're wrong.

You are wrong, Ed.

That's all it is.

It's your wrong.

um all right so uh we have the

leaderboard finalized this week not that

it was any big surprise because it didn't

change much in the last four or five

days um we know who's going to the

games now we've announced enough times on

this show we don't need to go through

it again but one thing i found fascinating

as i was listening to the interview with

dave and ariel today she is the oldest

female athlete at thirty two

That's new.

I thought she was older than thirty-two.

I literally just listened to it before the

show.

She's thirty-two?

Yep.

Now the men may have an older guy.

And on the women's side,

it's the youngest, oldest athlete ever.

Miley's the youngest?

No, no, no.

Ariel is the youngest,

oldest athlete ever.

Oh, yeah.

That makes sense.

Yes.

Makes sense.

I mean, Carolyn was there last year,

right?

She's older than thirty-two.

Well, I found interesting... Go ahead.

Yeah.

We have a delay,

so I'm going to stop, Carolyn.

You go.

What I found... Sorry.

Yeah, the internet's not great here.

That...

a third of the field came out of

the teens division.

I thought that was interesting to hear.

Ten out of the thirty females competed in

the teenage division.

And I think he said seven out of

the thirty men also came through the teen

division.

I thought that was interesting stats.

That's a big, big change.

Because there was a period where the men

weren't bringing anybody out of the teen

division.

Is Miley seventeen or eighteen?

When she did the interview with Dave,

I believe she was seventeen.

I don't know if she still is or

not.

Um.

Tessa said,

Dave always forgets about shit.

And it was so awkward that he asked

Ariel if she talked to Tia about babies.

It was kind of weird.

Because it was like Ariel didn't even know

how to answer the question.

I haven't listened to the Ariel interview

yet.

I'll have to catch up on that one.

Is she not...

friendly with you do they not talk i

don't think it's that i it just seemed

ariel's answer was when i talked to tia

we don't talk about kids i could see

that yeah and dave they're just moms and

that's the only thing they have to talk

about yeah kind of it was weird it

was awkward

But I did think that,

I think all these interviews have brought

something to the forefront of what could

be coming at the games.

And that's the big thing I wanted to

talk about kind of this week is all

of these little announcements that

CrossFit is leaking out over and over

again.

We know we're getting the original hopper

workout as the first workout of the games.

We know we're getting no dives and no

flip turns, which I am completely against.

And I want to go off on that

in a minute.

Well, no, on his story the other day,

someone dove into the water.

And he said, no rep.

Right.

Oh, I didn't have the volume on.

Yeah.

Yeah, he screams no rep on that.

We know it's twenty five meter swims,

which is not that big of a deal

in the swimming world.

The bike is back.

We know the snail and the pig are

back.

We it's we also know one we only

know one full event,

but we know all these little like things

that have popped off.

Right.

like Snail Pig and the hoppers being used

and so on and so forth.

And then on the couple interviews I heard

today that there's going to be a couple

long events and a couple BAM events that

are pretty much instantaneous.

Yeah.

So I think that's really interesting.

I mean, that was to be expected, though.

Jumping, throwing, all of those are BAM.

Yeah,

and I wanted to get Carolyn's opinion on

that because she's been begging for BAM

events.

I begged for BAM events for ten years.

I'm old now.

it means nothing to us could have used

those bam events before yeah uh he i

haven't got to the alexis interview yet he

told alexis there would be five more than

five events on wednesday wow so they're

just they're just cramming them in

probably a bunch of the short ones that's

kind of what we expected though

I was listening to the,

I think it was Quinn Robinson one when

he was talking about all the handstand

stuff and on the rings things.

And Dave was saying to continue to work

what their peers are doing.

Like I'm looking at everyone practicing.

I'm like,

is there a leak that has gone?

Cause like,

like why is everyone doing all of these

moments all of a sudden?

Like more so than any other year.

I'm like, there's,

there's some leaks for sure.

Probably.

Great.

Well, there probably are leaks,

but it's also because it's Tony events and

all of this stuff,

you can't just do your classic CrossFit

training anymore.

You have to try all these weird things.

The pan chicks going to a fire station

and running through the,

the rescue Randy fireman's test.

I would like,

I thought that was really cool to see

them do that.

But that's less leaky of testing stuff

than like other things that you see.

I think like when everyone's doing the

same movement, you're like, Hmm.

What movements are those like all the like

front roll back roll stuff that everyone's

just keeps doing,

but they're doing way more than other

years.

Like we would see the press to handstand

people practice that.

But like all of the roles,

I don't know.

I,

I think that's seems a little bit leaky

to me.

I'm seeing a lot of double under cross,

but I mean, it wouldn't be,

it wouldn't be surprising.

Like how many people have tested these

workouts?

Everyone's friends with people are dating

people that are about,

or let's invite someone's brother to be on

the demo team this year.

Right?

Like it's literally anything.

That's why there's going to be leaks.

CrossFat says, has not been a leak,

but Dave's been sprinkling dumb crumbs

that we all nerd about.

I think it's both.

I think it's both, CrossFat.

I don't think you can say there hasn't

been a leak.

Daniel Arnson, final attempt,

but also want to support.

Jamie say, go blue, or when you win,

you can say,

I just want to thank the University of

Michigan for your four ninety nine.

I'll say go blue for the

Thank you, Daniel.

Oh, that hurts.

CrossFit says he didn't leak it.

I don't think it's HQ anymore.

I think it's all the testers.

Yeah.

I agree.

There's just too many camps,

too many relationships.

Yeah.

It's hard to find people that are good

at testing things that would give you good

data and aren't best friends or training

partners,

significant others of people that are at

the game.

That's really hard to find that.

That's the tough part about the unknown.

To find that person that's fit enough to

test it and isn't attached to a person

or a camp.

You are right, CrossFit.

Savannah Taylor did spend an entire show

figuring out which gymnastics video Dave

is watching.

Maybe pay that tester crazy monies if it

never gets out.

We gonna take that from the prize purse?

Where do we find the money?

We're crying poor.

John won't tell me anything about anything

and I gave birth to him.

John shouldn't know anything.

True.

If he does, that is a problem.

I agree.

Kenneth, if I was HQ,

I'd leak the wrong stuff.

Yeah.

Seth Jumpship,

lots of monkeys see monkey do this time

of year.

If they see a peer with a skill

they don't have,

they start doing that skill to make sure

they don't get left behind.

It can get silly.

I can see that too, for sure.

So with all the breadcrumbs that have been

leaked...

Does this make the games more exciting for

you this year?

And I'm just talking about the elites.

We're going to get into Masters next week,

but... I mean, honestly, I'm not...

I'm not even going to be watching the

elites.

I'm not even excited for the games.

But that's because of your circumstances.

I'm excited for the Tony event.

if you didn't have a teen competing on

the weekend and you weren't competing,

would you be excited for the games?

Yeah.

Yeah.

I'd be excited to see what.

We're going to come up with and how

it all plays out.

I think it's a good field.

I think thirties, the right number.

I think they have good athletes there.

Yes.

I would be, I would be more excited.

I'm super excited.

I think I am more excited for this

year than I've been in the last handful

of years going into the games.

I love, like for me,

they're bringing back some of the most,

the,

my most favorite items are coming back.

Pig, snail, a bike, swim.

I want to see all those things.

Um,

I love everything that's been announced so

far.

I'm more excited this year than other

years for all the little breadcrumbs and

stuff like that.

I just hope it's all just functional.

As much functional as possible.

I don't want it to be any very

gimmicky type

Where it's like,

is this really relevant in a test of

fitness type test?

That's why I'm not a huge fan of

the front row stuff.

I could care less if someone can do

that.

I don't think that that determines fitness

at all.

I really don't.

So I could care less about that.

But if we're going to be swimming,

throwing, biking on a real bike,

jumping over things...

know moving across the field like i love

that i think that's a great test of

fitness go long go short medium um but

i just could do away with some of

the things that like i don't think are

that important in the test of fitness but

with twenty events you can do those type

of things but i just hope it's not

well uh at ai but be real with

me scott is it too many flashy wads

is too many flashy wads bad i'm not

saying i want them all to be flashy

wads

The original hopper workout,

there's nothing flashy about that workout.

Nothing flashy.

It is row, shoulder to overhead,

and pull-ups.

That is it.

But I'm excited to see how much faster

today's athlete can do it from twenty

years ago.

Like, they didn't even do butterfly,

I think, at that point, right?

Like,

most of the athletes were just skipping.

Yeah,

I think that's when Butterfly first

appeared.

Sorry if my internet's horrible.

No,

it's just a little bit of a delay.

I think we're good.

I mean, essentially,

the Butterfly pull-up was invented at the

first ever games.

And Dave talks about it with Janie

Cheveri.

because she trained at OPT,

and there were two Canadians that had come

to the games.

Everybody thought OPT was going to win,

and it was APT that won the games.

I didn't know that that's what James

Fitzgerald was called.

But anyway, yeah,

like that story only gets told when we

get to come back and do this.

I need a spectacle of fitness.

We know the PGA golfers are the best,

but if the course is boring, it sucks.

I have been saying that for a week,

CrossFat,

and people have been hammering me.

I want it to be a spectacle at

the games.

Yeah.

I don't want it to be you get

six tries to be there.

I want it to mean something and to

be a spectacle once you get there.

I do think Dave does a good job

of that.

He thinks about the story on the floor.

He thinks about it being exciting.

He usually thinks about finish lines.

But he doesn't think about the how to

get there story.

Or is not allowed to think about the

how to get there story.

The season is the story.

Yeah.

The games are the culmination of that

story.

And without getting to the climax of the

story,

it's all on the games to pull it

off.

Right.

And that's where everything is missing.

It's like Avera couldn't get through the

beginning of Project Hail Mary because it

was all discombobulated and confusing and

slow.

He never even gave the climax a chance.

And we're doing the same thing with the

CrossFit game season.

It makes no damn sense.

It's discombobulated.

It's all over the map,

and people are giving up on it.

Yeah, that's fair.

March Madness is phenomenal because of the

heartbreaks like Duke-UConn last year.

Yes.

It tells a story.

Sam Briggs, not making the CrossFit Games,

told a story.

Then the next year,

will she make it back?

Becomes a whole new story.

Katrin falling off the rope to then come

back and not only make it to the

Games, but win the Games twice.

That's a story.

Being lovey-dovey and making sure

everybody's happy to get to the games

doesn't set up those storylines.

Sports are cruel.

Getting a red card within half an hour

to go in the match and have to

play one man down to win the game,

that creates a story because sports are

cruel.

We probably wouldn't care about some tall,

nerdy Canadian if it didn't take three

misses for Brent.

Everybody knew who he was when he got

to the games because of the near misses

he had the three years prior.

Yes, Nate Ackerman is a great story.

It's a great story.

But it needs to play out in a

way with the drama.

Are we still talking about CrossFitters?

This turned into the Dr. Ruth show.

We have not talked about love or the

bedroom or anything like that for you.

This is nowhere near Dr. Ruth.

All right.

So I do want to talk briefly about

the swim event.

If we...

And I had a long talk with Jackie

Robinson last night because she was a

former swimmer.

I was a former swimmer.

This whole bit about banning the flip turn

makes absolutely no sense.

Zero sense.

There are probably only two people in the

games field that can do a flip turn

with efficiency enough to even make a bit

of difference.

Most people are going to try a flip

turn and pop straight up out of the

water because they've had to hold their

breath while flipping upside down.

Tessa,

twenty-five meters is not a short

distance.

I swim in twenty-five yard pools,

which are shorter than meters.

all the time.

You own the big meats are the only

place you got to an Olympic sized pool.

I did not streamline kick off the wall

more than a third of the pool.

And I was a good swimmer.

Lucy Campbell and Ty Jenkins might be able

to do that.

Nobody else.

So Justin beat high

But Justin doesn't have technique at the

flip thing.

But at WFP, didn't Justin beat Ty?

But it was a straight, like,

five hundred meter swim.

That'd be different?

Yes.

I think there's a few swimmers that could

do the flip turn, though.

I've watched a lot of CrossFit swimmers,

at most, therefore,

that could do a flipped.

Listen,

I told this story to Jackie last night.

I went to states.

I was favored to win the Pennsylvania

State Championships,

and I missed a flip turn.

And it didn't touch the wall.

I had to backpedal to the wall.

And I was favored to win.

Flip turns are a risk.

Right, I agree with that.

If you're really, really good at them.

You're on mute, Carolyn.

Can you hear me now?

Yep.

Were you saying something?

It looked like you were talking.

I said,

so are rebounding box jump overs and we

don't allow certain athletic people to do

it.

I think that's dumb too.

I think the athlete should choose if they

want to do them or not.

If an athlete can flip turn,

they are going to win no matter what,

simply by more if they can flip turn.

Maybe.

You're right,

because if they can do an efficient flip

turn, they are a damn good swimmer.

And so they're going to win in the

water regardless.

And even if they stop and grab the

wall and push off,

I would contend they would be able to

be more efficient by going under the water

with a streamline kick longer than if they

did a flip turn.

And you may actually be playing into their

hands.

Yeah.

Yes, Eric,

you shouldn't restrict efficiency.

i'm sure it's just a safety thing i'm

sure it was a fight just to even

get a pool involved they're going to keep

it as.

they're going to keep it as clear cut

to be able to see people.

as they can.

The last thing you need is somebody

getting dizzy and turning three quarters

of the way and pushing into the ground

and hitting their head.

That's the last thing we need as a

sport.

I get the diving thing.

I'll give you the diving for safety.

The flip turn doesn't

Anyway, Shelly says,

we rewatched the event with Jordan Trojan,

and he is so much better at the

flip turn than anyone else because he was

a swimmer.

Matt Frazier was training to be an Olympic

weightlifter.

Should he be restricted on how he does

a snatch or a clean and jerk because

he was trained that as a kid?

It's one event.

It's why restrict for one event of twenty?

I mean,

unless they have specific rules for

implementing the pool again,

like maybe these were the restrictions

that they were given.

their first event back in the water it

was like no diving no flip turns just

touch and that's how you can introduce

show us that you can run an event

safely and then maybe the following year

you can kind of increase from there um

what people can do that's that's what what

came to mind for me so the diving

thing for safety makes all the sense in

the world to me

because I don't know how shallow or deep

the water is.

And if they're getting out on both sides

or one side,

we don't know any of those details.

So diving I get.

When I first started swimming,

the starting blocks were in the shallow

end of the pool.

And then the mandate came down for safety

to move them all to the deep ends

of the pools.

So every pool had to move the starting

blocks.

around to the deep end.

So I get,

because I think when I was at Legends,

when you were there, Jamie,

that was a shallow end of the pool

that everybody was diving in on.

You would get out,

do the kettlebell or the dumbbell,

whatever it was.

It was deep there.

Like, I'm not even sure I could touch.

Yeah, but you're only four foot two.

Fair.

Anyway, by the way,

Dave still has time to self-correct the

course of this swimming event.

He just has to listen.

I think we just need to be thankful

that we are getting swimming at all.

At the end of the day,

Lucy Campbell's going to win.

And Ty Jenkins is going to be up

towards the front.

And there's going to be one or two

other swimmers that are in the mix.

And everybody else is going to be fighting

for those other medium spots.

It's one event.

And if the safety team said not to

do it, I don't want to.

I get it.

If it changes how much they had to

pay in insurance, I get it.

But just to say it gives a competitive

advantage is not a good reason to give.

I would rather them say, hey,

it's for safety reasons.

I agree.

Or hey, it's for insurance reasons.

Right.

I'm surprised that he's pushing that

angle.

Because if that is the only reason,

that is weird.

I mean,

I feel like we're trying to give him

the benefit of the doubt that it's a

safety thing.

And I think he should just play into

that.

Like, hey, we have swimming back.

This is where we're starting.

This is how we're starting it.

And we're going to pray that everything

goes smooth so we can amp it up

next year.

At least someone from Australia is

probably good,

and some unknown will have secretly been a

D-I swimmer.

Probably.

But I did learn that just because you're

from Australia doesn't mean you're a good

swimmer.

It's only people from a certain area of

Australia.

Hey, we just brought it back,

so we want a good test safely.

Agreed.

If they would have said that,

I'd be okay with it.

But if you had something on ice and

said, well,

Carolyn can't use her own skates because

that's an advantage, it's dumb.

Yeah.

I mean, I still think like,

if you did that,

like you can't use your own skates,

everyone has used the same skates.

The best skaters will still win

regardless.

It just takes away the advantage that you

have.

Um,

I mean,

the one year they gave us fins to

swim, that only helped the good swimmers.

It did not help me.

I was still, I think,

last out of the water.

One of the last ones out of the

water because I didn't know how to

properly use them.

Fergie, this is a misnomer.

The Aussies don't all do the ocean rescue

program.

I learned this through the Dave Castro

interviews.

It's only people from a certain area of

Australia.

Ellie Turner is not a good swimmer and

never did the rescue thing.

And I think there was another person that

talked about, Bailey Martin maybe,

talked about not being from that area as

well.

It was also weird because Bailey seems

like he's not real tight with Jay Crouch

and Ricky.

I think they're just from different areas

of Australia.

Yeah.

It'd be like being from California and

Ohio.

You never see each other.

You never run into each other.

Ellie looks like she sinks like a rock.

Well,

muscle sinks like that is a known thing.

So a lot of these CrossFit athletes are

going to have an issue with sinking.

I would take Carolyn over Bailey in a

swim event.

You sure about that?

I don't know about that.

They may want to fit.

Rethink that of air.

I don't think you've seen me swim before.

Fergie says Canadian should get a two

second headstart swimming.

Not enough.

Pat and Carolyn need at least ten seconds.

So what are what is the Chrome?

Yeah, I don't.

Yeah, I think she's decent.

She was good at WFP, right?

I don't remember where she finished in

that.

I think so.

What is your favorite tidbit that's been

dropped?

Maybe the snail or the pig.

I like seeing those.

Carolyn,

do you have a favorite crumb that's been

dropped?

Not really,

but I just like in the interviews when

he said to like,

plenty of people will have opportunities

to shine in terms of like maybe some

I don't know,

explosive things or athletic things.

So I'm very curious on what those are.

Um,

that's what gets me a little bit more

excited about the stuff.

Um, but then just seeing, I don't know,

a regular bike, uh,

that I've always liked the pig.

I grew up in hockey doing a lot

of like, tire flips and stuff like that,

which is like the same leg drive

technique.

So I like that I've never had the

opportunity to try the snail.

It looks horrible.

But yeah, excited for that.

Those kind of cool implements to be added.

What I love about the snail is it's

like slow motion excitement.

Like everybody's trying to get to that

finish line.

And it's just going like so slow.

And there was like,

there was a team event where it came

down like the last five meters and people

got overtaken in those last five meters.

It was brilliant.

Favorite tidbit,

Dave saying several events on one day will

be instantaneous,

meaning quick like a softball throw.

I don't think we're getting a softball

throw.

I don't know.

That doesn't really excite me.

The throw I want is the med ball.

Who do you want to see throw?

I just said,

I want to see people throw in general.

Cause a lot of the people that I've

watched online don't look like they can

throw ball or have thrown many balls

before.

I'd mentioned earlier in the week that I

wanted to see the med ball GHD throw.

And then someone sent me the reel of

that event.

It was really a cool event.

I'd like to do the,

that sandbag toss over like the,

like the strong man stuff.

Like Rogue has that sandbag.

I'd like to see something like that for

some explosive power.

I don't know how hype plays it.

I think hype would play a little bit

of an advantage though on that.

But it is what it is.

I think that would be cool.

Tyson Bajan is going to be there.

Maybe they're throwing a football.

I did double check.

Camp starts on Sunday.

Yeah, I was going to text you that.

I had looked at that too.

So he is available Wednesday through

Saturday.

And actually first practice isn't even

until Monday.

So he just has to get there Sunday

night.

Yeah.

It was like first year,

like all the rookies are start on like

Wednesday or something, but that was it.

I was like, oh yeah,

he won't be needed until,

and he's not allowed to go to those.

He tries,

like I've heard him say in interviews,

he tried,

he wants to be at all the practices

to just soak in everything.

Yeah.

But he is like,

like not allowed by the NFL to be

at those practices.

No better place to take your mind off

it than the CrossFit Games.

Indiana Bear Star.

Probably never happen.

And if it does, I don't even care.

I don't live there.

And hey,

I talked to Eric Mackey this week.

I have my Packer tickets all lined up.

Packers Bears, week five.

Front row end zone because of my guy,

Eric Mackey, the man.

I am so excited for that.

I hope it's football.

If you think people are bad at throwing

a softball,

football is way more complicated than

way more complicated would it be for

distance or for accuracy would there be

like a little circle it would have to

be for distance distance just get it out

there well you couldn't have it for

accuracy because jason hopper would have

an advantage and we can't allow the former

college football player to have an

advantage would the roll count or would

they mark it right where it hits

would have to be where it hits i

in my opinion that's what track and field

does right wherever your discus or shot

put lands you don't get the roll or

the or whatever uh travels less far so

it won't look as bad but when they

throw larry when they throw the duck

that it's like spinning sideways or

instead of a spiral it's gonna look so

bad so bad it would look horrible ricky

could surprise you with some aussie roll

skill he could

And really football is an American sport.

So it would be kind of a disadvantage

to the world to throw a football because

even though Australia has Australian

rules, football and rugby,

the balls are different shapes and sizes.

So.

And you throw it differently too.

Right.

Wobbling.

Yeah.

I mean,

they don't want the athletes to look bad,

right?

Are you sure about that?

There are things that they do that I

really question that.

At the games,

you think there are things that have made

the athletes look bad?

I think they are not showcasing.

You cannot put the masters.

We all have our thoughts about the masters

programming.

You think the crossover Dumbledore's made

us look awesome?

I'm not saying – oh,

you're saying at the elites.

Yeah, even at the elites, yes.

Yeah,

but look how good people are at crossover

double-unders now.

And that's another point of why would you

restrict athletes.

Nick Matthew and Daniel Brandon could kill

them.

Why should they be penalized because they

were good at crossover double-unders?

What made the athletes look silly were the

single-unders.

That too,

when they first did the freestanding

handstand pushup, it didn't look awesome.

Yep,

ring handstand pushups didn't look

awesome.

Yeah,

that is my least favorite workout ever

from the CrossFit Games.

By far, least favorite.

I think Dave said at one point,

maybe years ago,

that he didn't like the standard that they

came up with on that ring handstand

pushups,

and he wasn't sure that they would ever

see that again.

Good.

I don't ever want to see it again.

I thought that would...

And it was so high and like...

You know,

Kipping It Real had a meme this week

where all the different events that Dave

comes up with, they're like,

what about the athlete safety?

F them.

We're going to bury them.

Like, boom, boom.

And then they're like, hey,

we're going in the swim.

Hey,

we need to make sure that they don't

dive.

We need to make sure that they don't

do flips.

And then the next event, hey,

we're going upside down,

fifty meters in the air.

Oh, F them.

Let's bury them.

It was a great meme.

It was a great meme.

The best metaphor I heard was not letting

gymnasts glide.

Kip is the same as flip turn.

Gymnasts are still good.

I don't know how I feel about that.

um the good swimmers are going to win

regardless if it's a and dave did say

swimming will matter this time unlike the

ski erg swim yeah so

As long as swimming matters,

the good swimmers are going to win

regardless.

I just think it's a stupid rule with

the flip turn because it'll sort out the

good people and the bad people.

And if you're not good at it,

you shouldn't be trying it anyway.

I agree.

And you should be penalized for a dumb

decision if you try it.

I just like that the first event of

the games is not a long distance run,

roll, whatever,

because you always give the advantage to

the same athletes to start the weekend

with some confidence with a leader's

jersey or just like doing well on the

leaderboard.

Like this is a straight up CrossFit event

to do the first workout.

And I think it's going to allow different

people to start their weekend off with

good momentum.

And that's like the games is a long

test, but it's a head game.

Like there's so much mental component to

staying in it and being confident.

And when you start off being like dead

last or like close to the back end,

it can really affect the rest of your

day or weekend.

So I'm excited that it's something

CrossFit to start.

Like I know swimming is going to be

most likely I think on the Wednesday,

but maybe later on.

So you're saying Pat, it's Pat's here.

Is that what you're saying?

Pat's here.

Come on, Pat.

Uncle Pat.

Pat's that last team in the field of

sixty-eight who thinks they have a shot

against UConn in the finals.

Pat's always going to bet on himself.

I would love to see it, honestly.

But my question to you is,

we have sixty athletes going to do the

original hopper.

They now can butterfly.

It's one hundred twenty five pull ups

overall.

It's what, six per round,

thirty shouldered overhead.

How many of the sixty athletes go

unbroken?

I don't I think especially for the females

with it being eighty five pounds,

it's just like if I were to do

one hundred and twenty five for time,

I'm not doing them in sets of twenty

five.

It's like I just don't know that that

many are going to go,

especially for the females,

unbroken because that bar is even lighter

for the females,

which means they're going back even

quicker to the bar and just doing sets

of twenty fives.

And I don't know that it's going to

be worth it to do unbroken the whole

time, at least for the females.

I don't.

I think for the men,

a lot of them can and a lot

of them maybe will.

I think on the female side, less,

less so.

Yeah.

Do you have a number just over under

how many total athletes out of the city?

I don't even think half the women will

go unbroken.

Yeah, I agree.

Not half the women.

I think the first three rounds you're

going to see a lot of unbroken.

I think that's the whole field.

Twenty will not be in the whole field.

But the thing is, is like,

you can walk slowly.

You can chalk up to go and do

an unbroken set.

It doesn't mean that that was any faster

than someone that can jog,

do a set of fifteen, come down,

do a set of ten.

Like if you're transitioning faster and

hopping up on the bar,

like it really doesn't mean much if you're

going to wait around so that you can

go unbroken.

So like, can you go unbroken?

Yes.

Is it better?

I don't know,

because if you're able to push that

transition,

Well,

Dave is Dave had tie on when that

was announced and ties like everybody's

going on broken.

So that's why I wanted to ask you

as athletes, I'm not saying,

are they capable?

I'm saying how many will go unbroken for

that workout?

Because I'm sure that some people have the

strategy.

It's with one quick break is better than

going unbroken.

A hundred percent.

I think that's,

what's going to end up happening.

I think fewer will go unbroken than people

think.

I do think, yeah, I think they're capable.

I don't.

Daniel says, twenty-five plus men,

fifteen-ish women.

Ten to fifteen total, says Eric.

Make an easy, quick break in later rounds.

That's probably what it'll be.

Ten to fifteen total people will go

unbroken.

That's what I think.

Yeah.

I just think that they're going to push

the transition, hop on the bar quickly,

come down, and then just continue.

versus resting a little bit more so that

they can go unbroken.

Like, it's not a matter of,

like you said, if they can do it,

it's if that's the right strategy.

So Ty said that in response to Dave,

as it was announced,

Tessa saying Quinn said the same thing.

So that's why I'm putting it out there.

Cause I, I just was like, I,

and when they were saying that, I'm like,

is that the smart way to go?

Quinn said the same thing,

like that people would just people can do

it unbroken.

People would go unbroken.

Do you think that they're just like

baiting there?

Could could be baiting,

but then if the transitions are long,

then that actually helps to go unbroken.

if the transition of where you moved your

bar is closer to the rig,

your ability to recover now gets like,

you have to go back on the bar

faster.

But if,

if you actually make that bar move up

the floor more,

that actually helps for the unbroken.

So it really depends on the layout.

If they go on the same type of

flooring that they did before for the

hopper, if they're going to,

or like where they did the reloaded

version,

if it's going to be at the same

pretty small moving forward,

But, yeah,

the further they increase the barbell,

the more I think you would see unbroken.

Shelly says it's the first workout,

though.

They're going to have a ton of adrenaline.

That's where you have to be the smartest.

Agreed.

I'm sure they're all testing this one and

figuring it out.

So, I mean,

this seems like one that Colton would have

figured that out.

Is it better to break once or even

twice really quickly?

Yeah.

Especially if you're trying to run the

transitions.

It's also your time to make a statement

to get in that last game.

I mean,

those bars are not the same as the

ones that they normally go on Rogic if

they're using the old bars that were

there.

How high are they?

Those also impact the breaks that you'll

want to make.

I think you're going to get some people

try to go unbroken because they want to

get in that last heat as quickly as

possible.

And I don't know how they're seeding

because the way people got there this year

was all over the map.

Are they going to draw them out of

a hat to put them in heats?

Or are they going to do it alphabetically

like I heard some people do?

Do we know if they're using the original

rig?

I don't even know.

We don't even know where.

True.

We don't know if it's at the ranch,

if it's at Morgan Hill,

if it's at the Red Barn.

Yeah, because like I said,

if the height of it's different,

like as a female athlete,

if you have to jump very high every

time,

then you're looking to hold on to the

bar longer because that extra jump or

transition plays a role.

So it depends on the layout a lot.

I think will also matter for strategies.

A good point by CrossFit.

Dave didn't say we couldn't flip turn in

that event.

Last year's seeding was by open finish.

That is correct because Tia had to go

in the back of the run because of

her open finish.

I think that's a reasonable standard to

use.

Make the open matter again.

Agree.

There's other ways to make it matter even

more, but we're not doing that.

So we really only know one event,

which is the original hopper.

The rest are all just tidbits.

We do know that the hopper,

they're going to try to be transparent

about it,

and they're going to show what balls go

into the hopper before they are.

Nice.

That's exciting.

Dave said to Ariel that he doesn't want

it to look rigged.

So they want to show all the balls

that go into the hopper to show that

they are truly going to pull a workout

out.

Oh, my gosh.

I see Bernie corrected it,

but this is incredible.

How about using open order proceeding?

That's freaking genius.

Yeah, I'm up in the three hundred level.

know that's not what you meant but i

like it and shoot that would make the

open matter for well then you probably get

more cheating yeah true because i want a

close seat at the yeah at the games

uh why would you want them to rig

it kenneth then why even have it if

you're gonna let them rig it then they

just should write the workout

Agreed.

It should not be rigged.

I'm excited to see how this plays out.

I do not want them to rig it.

They should use the accounting office of

Ernst & Young like the draft that

definitely wasn't fixed.

Carolyn's hopping more than the Easter

Bunny tonight.

The internet here is always very bad.

All right,

so let's talk about he did say there

was gonna be a handful of repeats.

So a handful is at least five in

one of the interviews that he did.

He did.

Do you like that many repeats?

Okay, some but not too too many.

Or maybe it was a handful of scores

that were fifty points.

I can't remember which one it was.

He said a handful of repeats.

Okay, yeah, that as well.

We have one so far.

To me,

because he said there's going to be a

handful of repeats and a lot of stuff

that will look similar to what we've done

but modified.

My thing with the repeats is it all

depends on what you're repeating.

If you repeat strongman's fear,

I'm all for it.

But you repeat the ring muscle up,

ring push up,

Fiasco, not for it.

So yeah.

I just, I'm excited.

But the fact that there's twenty events

and we know one.

We truly only know one even though all

this little bit has been leaked out.

I like that.

I don't want them to know it.

I don't want, like someone else said,

I don't want them practicing this hopper

repeat and figuring out the best strategy.

I want to see...

gets tied up into trying to you know

like now they know what to do they

know exactly how to get the best time

i don't love that i don't mind like

one or two of those where you everybody

is at their best and they all come

at and you see who's the best but

i do like the surprise and you have

to figure it out on the fly i

think it should be a combination of

everything

I'm okay if they repeat the wheelbarrow.

I don't know where you would do it

because we don't have the tennis stadium

anymore.

But as long as they don't buy it

at Home Depot before the games.

That everyone is talking about these

mysteries is a win of itself.

Yes.

Yes.

I want to see some struggling and figuring

it out.

I want to see some too,

but it doesn't have to be all twenty

events.

Like if you're going to bring back the

softball throw,

let people practice a little bit.

Because even with two weeks of practice,

they're not going to get to where the

best throwers are.

Wheelbarrow down Barack Obama.

Haven't had a lot of mentions about Barack

Obama this week on the interviews.

But he did say some of the stuff

at the venue were going to be outside.

So that too.

So before we head out for the night,

there's also the WFP Tour Stop II

qualifiers going on as we speak.

Our very own Carolyn,

is she still planning on doing them?

Yeah,

I did all three of them yesterday just

to finish them up.

Just because I want to get to just

regular training.

I like that there was only three of

them.

Like versus having sometimes four or five

or sometimes people even put six qualifier

work.

And it's like just three, great.

So I did all three of them yesterday.

I might redo this one.

I did terrible on this one.

So total minute AMRAP, thirty thrusters,

thirty pull-ups.

I know I like this combo quite a

bit.

Twenty-five thrusters, thirty pull-ups.

That was also a third one I did

yesterday.

Twenty thrusters, thirty pull-ups.

And then AMRAP thrusters for the remaining

time.

Do you like AMRAPs for qualifiers?

Yeah, they're fine.

In a version like this,

this would be a good open or quarterfinal

workout, even.

You know,

increasing weight and then the strong

people.

You also have to be fit to make

it far.

I thought this was a good workout.

Two is thirty deadlifts,

sixty forty-eight calorie row,

thirty deadlifts.

Really?

Carolyn, do you like this workout?

That was the first one I did.

This one was pretty good for me.

And then ten rounds for time,

fifteen GHDs,

nine strict handstand pushups,

three and two rope climb.

I love this workout.

I'm just not fast on like GHDs and

even strict handstand pushups.

Like my cycle is just not fast,

but it was fun to do.

Yeah.

So I did, I did number two,

then number three.

And then I finished with the thruster pull

up one.

My legs are really sore today.

And that's day two.

Cause yesterday they were a little bit

sore and they're more sore today.

I think it was all just from the

thrusters.

And so your goal was to get them

out of the way as soon as possible

so you could get back to games training?

Yeah.

Which is so different this year,

training for the games,

because in the past,

when I'm training for the games,

I'm training kind of like these other

games athletes where you're doing a lot of

field work stuff.

You're doing a lot of odd object,

yokes and sandbags and this and that and

pirouettes and everything that you can

think of.

But I'm like, masters is not like that.

Like,

I don't think we'll see much of that

at all.

So it's not as fun, I guess,

training for the masters as it was as

an individual.

Like,

there's just so many more things that

they'll test the individuals that they

just won't do the masters because you have

to do a workout and kind of trickle

down to all the divisions.

So there's only so many cool things you

can do.

So let me ask you this.

Dave asked Ariel if she was going to

go into the Masters division when she got

the .

And they talked about how in the early

days, like Rich skipped it,

Matt skipped it.

A lot of those early athletes skipped it.

And now all of a sudden,

we're getting a resurgence.

Like last year, Graham Holmberg did it.

Scott Pancheck did it.

He's doing it again this year.

You have Noah Olsen and Travis Mayer

joining.

And that's just on the men's side.

You got Mackenzie Riley and Carolyn and

Kelly Clark and a lot of athletes doing

it on the women's side as well.

Do you think that there's a lack of

participation because the...

the Masters events are not the cool events

that you got to do when you were

an elite.

Like,

it's no different than going and doing

Wadapalooza or Crash Crucible or any other

– or MFC during the year.

The games don't have those special –

toys to play with or the special things

to make it that step up in that

spectacle for the masters athletes.

I mean,

I think that's a new phenomenon is the

problem.

I think they're,

they're shooting themselves in the foot

with the way they split us off.

Cause that wasn't the case.

Like at three, they got to do that.

Jerry can carry like they,

they used to take, it used to.

Yeah.

Like in Madison.

Yes.

On the North park.

It was different.

It was different.

And there was a little bit more

cohesiveness within the programming.

because it was all from the CrossFit Games

team.

Now they've kind of outsourced that

programming and it's in a different venue.

They can have completely different tests.

I mean,

we think that there's going to be a

completely different test between the

teenagers and the masters.

So like this teenager test is testing for

the fittest on earth.

This master's different,

completely different test is going to be

our test of the fittest on earth.

And then you have the individuals which

have their tests.

Like it's kind of,

weird that it's not as cohesive.

But I think the games when I was

in Madison was a little bit more like

they did have a little bit more cooler

things like being outdoors for the masters

and stuff.

I'm just not sure we'll see that in

San Jose.

I hate the fact that it's being programmed

by a separate entity.

And there's no tie.

And there's no tie to a story from

the open forward.

It's like you go along with the CrossFit

storyline.

As bad as it was this year,

it was the CrossFit storyline.

And then all of a sudden you veer

off into a different book.

You read the first ten chapters of The

Martian and then you go finish Project

Hail Mary.

bringing us full circle back to the

beginning of the show.

Yeah.

I mean, it's, yeah,

it's like going and doing any legends or

MFC or any camp.

It's what's different here.

I think it,

I think it does take some of the

appeal away.

Andrew senses.

I don't,

I think Madison was the only time it

was like that.

I don't think the events were so on

Carson.

I disagree to us.

They weren't identical,

but you still had the age group athletes

on the soccer stadium floor with the big

transitions using some of the same

apparatus is they did at,

in the elite level,

the stuff was already there.

It's not a,

it's not a new cost of money.

because the items are already there.

This year you had that opportunity because

all of that equipment is already there.

You're not shipping in anything new.

It was similar in Carson Andrew tracking

and the football field,

but like toned down.

Yeah.

And I'm like,

you ran the berm as a masters athlete

or a teen athlete,

just like the elite athletes.

Yep.

There it is.

CrossFit.

I think masters even ran the berm.

They did.

But there's the last couple of years it's

been like inside a convention center and

essentially not as creative or for the,

for the event.

So like when I'm training for the games

right now, I'm,

have that in mind i guess maybe we'll

have some cool things i hope we have

cool things but i just don't my

expectations aren't to have those things

that were like in madison for the masters

or in carson but i could be wrong

i hope i'm wrong so joey says i

doubt bob and joe even know what might

have access to because they're not looped

in on the indie programming implements

that's a problem huge huge problem

And then Andrew says, Joey,

they won't have access to the same

equipment since they're in different

venues.

It is close enough that you don't have

to ship it.

If you truly wanted them to do a

different version of the test,

it's just down the street.

My guess is they're not.

Same ticket, everything.

I know it's how age group would be

like the teenagers have a completely

different test than the masters.

Like that to me is, is weird.

Why is there a test of like,

I get that the masters are not going

to do events like the individuals.

Do I think we should have some events

that are similar or, you know,

scaled down for masters?

Sure.

But like for the teenagers to have,

let's say a completely different test of

fitness than us, it's just weird.

I'm assuming right now that they're

completely different because they have

been,

or at least they were when they were

in two different venues before.

But like if the teenagers are getting

their events sent out right now,

you would assume that if masters were

doing the same,

we would also get tagged in on that.

But so now I'm just like looking at

what the events are and I'm just trying

to see, okay, there's a skier.

Okay.

There's a, there's a row, you know,

you're just kind of looking at,

or the implements that are getting

released for the teenagers,

assuming because we're in the same venue,

what we'll have access to.

But it's just weird that we have a

completely different test.

I truly hate that.

To me,

if you're not going to run a coordinated

games...

then just let the Masters go do its

own thing.

Agreed.

Through its own avenue.

There's no connection anymore.

Correct.

And if that's the decision they make,

then fine.

Let it go all in and let everybody

that is competing in that know the facts

up front.

Yeah, because you sold us on, oh,

it's the twenty-eighth anniversary,

we're going to all be back together.

And then, no, just kidding.

Because the seven hundred and fifty

dollars that in the Masters athlete has to

pay to compete for the whole season.

It'd be nice to know ahead of time

whether that is something they even wanted

to participate in before that happens.

I think what's missed by not doing it

is do you remember how much fun when

they did the swim ski and everybody did

the same workout and you could look and

see how

if a forty-five-year-old beat an elite

athlete.

And that was really, really cool.

Yeah.

Yeah.

That was awesome.

And we've lost that completely.

I didn't like that.

I was like, darn,

all these people are beating me.

They weren't always different, Tristan.

A lot of times it was a scaled

version of something that the elites had

done.

And early, like, seventeen, eighteen,

they were much more similar.

Yeah.

And the teenagers and the age group at

least had the same test.

Right.

Like,

I just think it's weird to not have

the same test as the teenagers in a

different scaled version, you know,

the weights or whatnot.

But like, it should be the same test.

we're in the same venue.

Like, why is that test or test?

Like at the end of the weekend,

you're going to look at it and be

like, Oh,

I wish we had that test of the,

for the, our test of the fit,

the fittest or vice versa.

Right.

Well, in every,

they didn't do the same number of tests,

which makes sense.

Yeah.

And they didn't do the,

the workout may have been scaled for the

masters divisions, which makes sense,

but it still had the same look and

feel when they did do the same.

Um,

So think they might have the Rhino

machine?

No.

I am betting that Xenon probably made it

an exclusive tool for their event with

Rogue, a deal.

I doubt that.

I think if CrossFit wanted to use the

Rhino machine, they could.

I don't think that Xenon would have an

exclusive.

I bet you they do for a couple

years.

Why not?

Rogue doesn't do that many CrossFit

competitions.

And they're a partner.

They're an actual partner with Xenon.

They're not a partner with the CrossFit

Games.

They're just a sponsor.

But wouldn't that help them sell the Rhino

even more?

Like, to get even more eyes?

I think making it...

more scarce and and not everybody has them

makes people if you want to do the

rhino you got to come to a xenon

i'm sure it'll be at their booth and

maybe but i don't think that they'll use

it yeah so

But CrossFit,

Rogue's saying that they're the, well,

that's not what I wanted.

Rogue is the official equipment provider,

but Xenon, they are a financial partner.

That's a whole different level.

So, and I don't,

from what I saw of it,

I'm not sure it's a great test right

now.

think it needs they need to like make

a a standard for it that's a little

more clear um and so if if i'm

the crossfit games i don't want the rhino

right now work out the bugs and then

we'll see about it in a year or

two well

That's all we got tonight, folks.

Don't forget,

any Super Chat goes to these lovely ladies

and their trip to San Jose.

And we're going to do that for one

more week.

And hopefully, by the end of the week,

I'll have shirts in.

And we can worry about that.

I've had some inquiries about the shirts

already.

I will have some at the games with

me,

and we will have a way to order

them before that,

as long as they get here in time.

and um and yeah so for one more

week we are going to do super chats

for the ladies and i'm thinking about

putting together a prize pack and drawing

everybody who donated to jamie and carolyn

and drawing out a name and you'll get

a prize pack of some stuff i have

that is clydesdale media merchandise and

maybe and including a one or two of

the new shirts

So with that,

thank you everybody for being here today.

Make sure you like and subscribe to the
